At this stage your slab will be left for a short period of time to cure and reach an acceptable strength before additional works can commence on or around your slab.
The plumber will connect your drains around your slab to the sewer system and then any excess sand will be removed.

Please be aware that these are only approximate dates as many factors play a part in the completion of these works and may be subject to change.

- My house has completed slab stage, what happens next?
- Your bricks and window frames will be delivered.
- All the equipment for your bricklayer will arrive.
- Your bricklayer will start the brickwork on your new home.
- How long until my brickwork starts?
- The slab needs to cure and will sit for a short time to ensure it has set. Once this has happened the brickwork can start.
- Why are there rough sunken areas on my slab?
- These are your wet areas. The tiler will fill and level this before laying the floor tiles.
- I have noticed cracks in my slab, who fixes this?
- These surface cracks are common and there is no need for concern. The slab to your home is engineer certified and contains steel reinforced mesh. The mesh does not prevent the occurrence of surface cracks.
- Why have they not poured the garage/carport floor?
- The garage is the most common point of access for trades and materials during construction. To avoid the garage floor being damaged it is poured at a later stage.
- Why is there a large pile of sand on my block?
- The large amount of sand is produced when the foundations and services are dug and installed. This will be used to refill the drains and any excess sand will be removed.
- Why have they put foam around some plumbing and not cement?
- This foam has been placed around the plumbing for your toilets and baths. The plumber will remove this foam and fill this with cement at the time of plumbing fixtures being installed. This is to ensure the plumbing is centred.
- My slab looks small?
- Many clients feel this way at this stage. Be assured that your home will be constructed strictly in accordance with your budget and plans.
